Gold is the currency of 9 kings and is the only resource in the game at this point. At the end of every year, the player receives 9 gold - it doesn't matter if the player won or lost the battle. The player can also obtain gold in other ways.

Gold is the main focus of the King of Greed.

Uses

Gold is used only in runs. It is used for various things:

The merchant selling cards for 30 Gold

Merchant

The merchant sells cards for 30 gold, and for each card bought, the price will increase by 15 gold.

Playing the King of Greed, the player will have access to Perks and Decrees that reduce the prices or give free cards before the merchant will start charging gold again.

Rerolls

Gold can be used to replace the Kings, decrees or cards offered to the player with other cards from the same king (one of the cards can be the base of the selected king). For each reroll, the price increases by 10 gold. On the looting screen, this price is always reset, but on the diplomacy or merchant screens the price is permanent, always increasing if the player rerolls again.

There exists both a universal perk and a unique perk of King of Nothing that gives for player 3 free rerolls.

Expansion

Gold is used for the player to expand their kingdom. During initial years, additional plots costs 0 gold but are only offered occasionally. After the final battle, plots cost 30 gold to acquire but can be bought freely.

Mercenary hiring

The player's current Gold is used to determine the stack count for Mercenaries. For every 15 gold the player has, Mercenaries will gain 1 additional troop. If a player spends gold, the count will reduce before the next battle. A player should bear this in mind to avoid losing Mercenaries, especially if they are the basis of their build.

There exists a perk for the King of Greed that makes Mercenaries cost -1 gold.


Shrine card

Shrine

The Shrine uses 9 gold per round to level up a random plot, but this Gold price reduces by 3 per level of the Shrine.

The shrine can level itself up if it randomly selects to do so.


Ways to obtain gold

After each battle, the player gains 9 golds, but exist enchantments, tomes, and buildings that gives the player gold.

Vault

A level 1 vault

The Vault gives the player +3 gold per level before each battle, until now, this is the only way to get gold passively.

The Midas Touch Is a enchantment that gives the troop 2% chance to gain 1 gold when he kills a enemy.

The loan is a universal decree that gives the player 99 gold coins instantly.




Prosperity.png


Prosperity

Prosperity is a Blessing that multiplies by 9 if the player have 20 or less of gold.

If the player have the holy perk this gold is multiplied by 18 or more.


Mortgage.png

Mortgage

The mortgage is a tome that destroys the selected plot in exchange for 30 gold per level of destroyed plot.




Pit

The pit

The Pit gives for the player 9 gold per discarded card, in added skip the player's turn.

The Salvage is a greed decree which triples the gold given by the pit.

Subornation

In a discarded diplomacy mechanic, a random king would declare war on your king, and to avoid war, the player could use 30 gold to bribe the king and avoid battle with him.
