Perks
Perks are meta-progression upgrades that can be obtained by leveling up the various Kings.
Mechanics
Types
In total, there are currently 78 Perks, split into three types.
- Universal Perks
- Usable by every King.
- Obtained by leveling up any King.
- Effects are general/have some application on every King.
- King Perks
- Specific to the King it was unlocked on.
- Obtained from levelling up specific Kings.
- Effects either only affect that King's cards, or thematically fit/relate with the King.
- Rainbow Perks
- Usable by every King.
- Obtained from leveling up any King, however only from the specific milestones of Level 3, 6, 9, and 12.
- This only applies to your HIGHEST Levelled King at the time, AKA your first King to reach those levels.
- Effects don't change anything during a run, however are able to affect other Perks and the Perk screen itself.
Obtainment
You obtain a Perk every time you level up a King, however the obtain-order can vary.
- Obtainment order alternates between Universal and King Perks all the way until you have all 11 Universal Perks, after which, every level-up will reward a King Perk instead.
- This means that, technically, it is easier to obtain King Perks for a King you want after unlocking every Universal Perk, otherwise you will alternate between a Universal/King Perk each level-up.
- If you have 0 Universal perks, it will take 18 levels on a specific King to get all 9 of their King Perks, meanwhile if you have all 11 Universal Perks, if will only take 9 levels.
- This means that, technically, it is easier to obtain King Perks for a King you want after unlocking every Universal Perk, otherwise you will alternate between a Universal/King Perk each level-up.
- Even though the type of Perk you get per level is guaranteed (alternates between Universal/King until all Universal Perks are obtained), the actual Perk order is random and specific to your account.
- There are 362865 possible variants for each Kings' Perk order, and 39916650 possible variants for the Universal Perk order.
- Rainbow Perks are tacked onto normal Perk obtainment, and do not replace that level-ups' Universal or King perk. Hitting levels 3, 6, 9, and 12 on any King for the first time will unlock a Rainbow Perk, alongside the Universal/King Perk.
Upgrades
Perks cannot be directly upgraded, however they can be "multiplied" by using Rainbow Perks, which cause them to be affected by a multiplier. This multiplier affects the perks effects directly, such as a x4 Multiplier causing a 10% buff to become 40%, or a +5 buff to become +20.
There are a number of possible layout combinations, with their own sets of multipliers: For brevity, only optimal Combinations will be shown, so nothing like Verticalist/Leftist pointing at nothing.
- Leftist (Right), Verticalist (Center), Nationalist (Top or Bottom)
- One x3 any
- Two x4 King
- Leftist (Right), Verticalist (Center), Nationalist (Left)
- Two x3 any
- Two x2 King
- Leftist (Right), Nationalist (Center), Verticalist (Left)
- Two x2 any
- Two x3 King
- Verticalist (Center), Nationalist & Leftist (Top or Bottom)
- One x3 any

Slots
There are a total of 9 Perk Slots by default, however this can be increased to 11 via Expander, and increased to 13 and 15 by other Rainbow Cards.
- x1 - 11 Total slots
- 10 Usable Slots
- Should ALWAYS be used if not upgrading it - is +1 Slot for free.
- x2 - 13 Total Slots
- 11 Usable Slots
- Requires either Leftist or one Verticalist Slot
- x3 - 15 Total Slots
- 12 Usable Slots
- Requires either Verticalist pointing at Leftist, or Leftist pointing at Verticalist (and one Verticalist Slot)
- Leftist pointing at Verticalist is directly better, as it allows for a second 3x any Perk.
